“Garbage in Garbage out” is one way of describing my eating habits. For most of my adult life, I have eaten crap. I’ve always reasoned, that I’m a healthy guy; I’m never sick, so how could eating “healthy food” help. Well, times are changing.
About 6 years ago, I started working with a local retired farmer, John Wunder, who was raising and selling flax in his spare time. (We’ll talk more about that process some other time.) For John and his wife Virginia, flax is a way of life. They live it, and spread the news about flax as though it were the gospel. Their passion is contagious; so every time I met with them, I’d leave feeling that I should make a commitment to use it – but I didn’t.
It took four years, but I’ve finally wised up. I’m still not an everyday consumer of flax, but it’s in my diet at least 3-4 times a week. And each time I eat it, I feel better. Perhaps it’s psychological, but when I eat flax, I feel more productive and focused.
In the next few weeks, John, Virginia, and myself are going to post about flax. We’re going to share stories about people who’ve had success with flax, we’re going to explain how and why flax makes people healthier, and we’re going to tell you a little about the Wunder Flax operation.
Over the course of time, I intend to spend less time blogging about flax, and let John and Virginia do it more – after all their the real experts. Hadn’t thought of this before, but while John is breaking me into the world of flax, I’m breaking him into the world of computers. Both John and Virginia amaze me at their willingness to embrace computers; not many 70 Somethings are willing to embrace computers. The point, however is that as John and Virginia become more comfortable with the computers, they’ll be the one’s sharing on this blog.
