Study shows people turn to flax

A study summarized on Medical News Today, indicates that more and more individuals are making flax a part of their diet:

Over two-thirds of consumers report they are aware of Omega-3 fatty acids, and over a third routinely consume products with Omega-3. The net result is an average annual increase in the Omega-3 product market of over 30 percent since 2000.

I hope this trend continues to grow.

Your blog on flax caught my eye and I could not agree more. I use it as the #1 grain to make my heart healthy cookies which are also loaded with Bavarian dark chocolate, toasted almonds, golden raisin and more. My college students called them the “bomb” which I took as an insult until I understood the meaning. We have really been successful here in the Northwest and recently featured this awesome product on Amazon. Just go there and search for papa giki. Or just Google papa giki to find out more.

I had a by pass two years ago and told the surgeon my flax cookies failed me. He just smiled and said it was my focus on nutrition that got me to the operating room rather than the morgue. He was right and I knew it. I also have a few excellent articles at my web site.

    Cheers

I think that natural foods is still the best way to introduce these into our bodies. I tried a diet rich in fish for a while and noticed a change in my complexion but I am not very fond of seafood so it only lasted for a few months! I’ve been taking Neurovi’s (www.neurovi.com) supplement ever since my pregnancy and I feel the benefits and I’m sure it helped me have a healthy and smart baby boy!

I’ll have to try flax soon though, maybe I can tolerate that better than fish :P

I would like to comment on Jim’s evaluation. It probably come down to how much fresh ground flax you were taking. We have had many varied miracles from flax–the most resulted from those consumming at least 2 heaping tablespoons– many were consumming more. Our bodies are all different so there is no one size fits all, still as many who take a tea spoon just will not see a change in our health, as we desire.
I’m glad to hear nathans mommy is going to try flax. Our grandaughter had a smart Dr. who told her to get flax in her diet during her last trimester.that was when the childs brain is really developing. I know for a fact it works for us old duffers too. Have a good one. I sure did. ol john w
